Bricklaying

our task was to make a pyramid brick wall consisting of 10 bricks in a order of 4 3 2 1. to start the task john made a wall  and talked us through how do complete the task, from watching him do it we knew what to do ourselves. i put on my ppe which was steel toe cap boots so my feet were protected from a falling brick and goggles to protect my eyes from any mortar splashing up into my eyes. before we started we had to set up for the task, i got 2 blocks and  placed a spot board on top, this is used for placing mortar for my bricks. i knew that the length my bricks had to start with was 890mm, i got a tape measure and pencil and marked out 890mm onto the floor, this was to ensure i kept to the right distance for my bricks. after this i used a shovel to get out mortar and placed it onto my spot board, i also got a trowel for moving my motor to my area from the spot board. when i knew i was ready to start i filled my 2 lines with mortar and placed my 4 bricks on it, i used my gauge rod to make sure the bricks were at the right height, i then got a spirit level to make sure they were strait and level. once this was done i started again but on my second course of bricks, i measured out 665mm on top of my bricks and placed my mortar and 3 bricks on top, i measured the height of the bricks and if they were all strait and level, every course i did i carried out the same thing which measuring the height and making sire it was level, the next three courses i done the measurements were 440mm and 215mm, once i knew all courses were accurate with being level, strait and the right height i reported back to my boss to tell him my pyramid was done, he checked my work and with him approving i took apart my wall and put the bricks back in the correct place and put my dry mortar away from wet and cleaned everything up
