Plasterboarding

My task was to plasterboard my stud infill. The first thing i done was to put on my PPE. I used goggles to protect my eyes from the plasterboard dust and gloves to protect my hands from cuts. I then got myself a measuring tape and a stanley knife and measured the width and length of my door frame, i then marked my measurements onto my plasterboard with a pencil and a spirit level to make it strait. I then cut the plasteroard with a stanley knife. After this i took it to my door frame to make sure it fit right, once i knew this i screwed it in.

Stud Infill

My task was to create a stud infill for a door way in college.
The first thing i made sure to do was to check i was wearing correct PPE, i know from the title i would be using wood (62x37 timber), nails(75mm bright wire) tri square and a panel saw. I equipped myself with goggles to protect my eyes from sawdust and nails (if i needed to pull them out of the wood and go towards my face) and gloves to protect my hands from cuts from the saw. My next task was to measure and cut my head and foot pieces of wood (the top and bottom part of the stud infill, there fixed in line with the back edge of the plasterboard) for this i used a tape measure, pencil and a saw. Once i knew the head and foot were the right measurement i nailed them to the door way using 75mm bright wire nails. After these were in place i then started measuring and cutting the vertical studs, I used to same method to do this. Once the basic frame was set up on my door way i started to measure and cut my central vertical stud. This is used for the centre of the plasterboard to give it more strength. Yet again i used the same method to the last vertical studs. Once this was done i measured 1200mm from the bottom up on each vertical stud and squared it all the way around, i did this for my 2 noggins i would be used to add more strength to my stud wall. i measured the size in between each vertical stud and the central stud and cut noggins to fit in these spaces, i put my first noggin under the line of 1200mm and the other over. once this was done i reported babe to my boss for next task.
