Method statement
We will put on our PPE on before we start the installation of the underground drainage. Then we will get rid of the earth in the area that we need to work in. To install the drainage system. We will start by installing a bottle gully then we will attach the 90 degree radius to it and attach the other side to the man hole, we will then link it up to the underground pipe that leads to the sewage system and test it all to make sure there is no leaks or blockages in the set up.

Common defects of underground drainage
1)      Blockage in the drains, this means you will have to dig down to the gutter to find your problem.

2)      Roots from trees and plants over growing and breaking the drains, which leads to leaks and water not being able to pass through.

3)      Damage to the pipes, thermal and ground movements can cause the pipes to come out of the sockets.
Limitations for pipes
Pipe joints can only take so much pressure before they can start to break.  So before using pipes you should research on how much pressure certain pipes can take.
Most pipes are made of plastic which means they can bend, this is a big limitation as the pipes need to then be cut and jointed.
