Concrete Capping

 

Common defects:

·        Cracking pug

·        Capping slabs loosening

·        Brick trowel

·        Jointer

·        Pug board

·        2 ft spirit level

·        6 ft spirit level

·        Bucket

 

Method Statement

We will start of by placing some pug on the wall and spreading it out, we will then put the concrete slabs on top of the wall and levelling it out, we will follow this method until the top of the wall is covered, we will make sure it is all level, plumb and that the slabs are the same way around as there is a slight slant so the water will drip of the wall and not sit in puddles on top.

1.      Dropping heavy capping stones on your feet

2.      Pug being around as it contains lime

3.      Equipment being left around

Who might be harmed:

1.      Who ever the stones lands on

2.      Anyone who inhales the dust or if pug gets in someone’s eye or mouth it will burn and course damage

3.      Any one who trips over the equipment

Risk level:

1.     Medium

3.     Low

Control measured required:

1.      Wear steel toe cap boots to protect your feet if for any reason a slab does fall

2.      Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from any splashes of pug and face masks to stop inhaling any dust

3.      Keep a tidy work place, and do a check of your equipment so you don’t leave anything behind.

After my visit to your property 57 Coombe Terrace, I have put together a quote for the capping on your garden wall, I will bring one of my labourers with me and myself as it will be no more then a two man job, listed below is a breakdown for the pricing so you know what costs what and know why we have charged the amount we have.

Material costs:

Paving slabs £5.81 x 3 = £17.50


Other charges:

Travel costs in van, £10.00

Labour charges £50.00

                                £83 total cost.
