SPECIFIC MEASURES REQUIRED TO MINIMISE THIS RISK

Protective equipment - Gloves / Goggles / Safety Shoes / Face mask

Method statement.

1)     Before we started work we needed to put on appropiate PPE for this job which consisted of;
Steel toe cap boots
Protective Gloves

2)     One we entered the work place we assesed the copper pipe we would be ammending, we knew from the pipe that is would be a patch repair.

3)     We then isolated the water supply so no water would be running through the pipes, we then drained the pipes  and put a bucket underneath so no water would hit the floor causing a potential flood.

4)     Once we knew there was no water left in the pipes we cut through the area that was faulty, we measured the faulty bit of pipe and cut out a new one.

5)     When it was ready we then soldered the pipe together so make it secure.

6)     Lastly we turned the water back on and run the taps to see if there was any leaks in the pipe, once we knew it was a perfect we then cleared up and left then site
