Flushing Sython

Common defects
Not tightening the fixings up properly will cause leakage
If you don’t check the rest of system before you leave and there ends up being a leak you will have to go back which will cost you more money and make your company look bad.
If you don’t level out the handle it will make your job look incomplete and scruffy.
Common materials
Syphon unit, which is usually made out of plastic
Plastic piping
Plastic nuts
Defects in materials
plastic splits easy and is more likely to leak.
Its easier to over tighten plastic nuts and that will cause damage, leaks and rounding off the nut.
Power tools, tools and materials used
Syphon unit
Adjustable Spanner
Bucket
Water
Method statement
Firstly we will turn the water off that is running to the toilet, we will then take the lid of the toilet flushing system and then drain all the water out the box. We will then detach the metal hook from the handle to the sython and then go under the box and unscrew the plastic nut, we will then take out the sython system and put in the new one then re screw the nut. After this we will have to reattach the metal hook onto the flushing handle and arrange it so that the handle is level, there are a few difference positions on the handle so we will have to find the correct one, once we have done this we will turn the water back on and check for leaks, it is important to identify leaks immediately as they can still be put right and leaving them well mean water will be continuously leaking and can course damp and other damage to the surrounding area.

Dear Mrs. Wonga after visiting your home and inspecting your toilet system I discovered that your toilet was not flushing properly. This is due to the fact that the inside part of your water sython has split and the water is being forced down to flush properly, this is the main mechanism that flushes the toilet, if you would like this repaired the costing is listed below.
Water siphon - £6.50
Travel costs- £9.00
Labour charges £15.00 a hour, should take 1 hour max.

£30.50
Vat 20% £6.10
Total cost £36.60
Thanks for choosing Crookes Crooked Construction &
